"Swordfish" Original Painting on Marbling, Laurie Vallance (BeMarblous) and Jean Paul Key West

$750.00

This collaborative work by Jean Paul and Laurie Vallance is both exclusive and unique, combining the beauty of each artist’s style in perfect harmony. Laurie’s water-marbling design established the theme for the piece, while Jean Paul enhanced it with an incredible Cubist-style swordfish painting.

The artwork began with an ocean-inspired marbled composition created at Laurie’s home in Englewood, Florida. It was later stretched and framed at Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park in Key West in 2025. Jean Paul then completed this collectible piece by painting one of his signature swordfish characters, often featured in his other celebrated works. Together, the marbling and painting complement one another beautifully, resulting in a stunning collaborative work of art.

Jean Paul considers his art modernist, impressionist, and realist, combining mixed media and fresco techniques to create some of the most vibrant colors seen on canvas. He developed his skills at Académie des Beaux-Arts in Haiti, where he studied under the godfather of Haitian art, Petion Savain.

Laurie Vallance began water marbling in the early 1990s. Her mother, Mara, inspired her with a book on the art of water marbling, and since then Laurie has created many remarkable designs and products. Her marbling bath has measured as large as 4 feet by 8 feet, allowing her to produce one-of-a-kind artwork in both small and large formats.

This 25.5” by 36” original is stretched over a wooden frame and is ready to hang in your special space. With the combination of original painted scene and marbled background, you won’t find anything like it anywhere! This magnificent expression deserves to be displayed prominently in a gallery, tiki bar, beach house, or place of business, where it is sure to draw admiration and appreciation.
